A poster titled “A new approach for harmonising the Laboratory Animal Science education and training in Europe” has been presented at the 14th FELASA Congress 2019 (Topic A: Education and training), taking place in Prague (Czech Republic) from June 10 to 13, 2019. Silvia D’Albenzio (IZSAM), as Project Coordinator, attended the Conference as Poster primary author.
The Third Transnational meeting of the project was held on 29 January 2019 at the HAO-DEMETER Campus in Thessaloniki (Greece).
During the opening session, Evangelia Sossidou of behalf of the hosting project partner and Katerina Marinou, representative of the Greek Ministry of Agriculture, gave their welcome addresses to the consortium team, supporting the project activities.
The HERMES project partners, under the coordination of the project leader (IZSAM) and of the University of Murcia, which hosted the activity, carried out a Short training staff event aiming at transferring to the experts designed as authors of the Intellectual Output 4 – the eLearning module on the “Recognition of pain, suffering and distress in animals used for scientific purposes” (with a focus on mice and rats) – the necessary skills and competencies for writing for eLearning.
The conference took place in Rome at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità on November 29, 2018. Organised in the framework of the HERMES project, the event saw the participation of several stakeholders actively engaged within the LAS field, with a specific focus on the training and certification of competencies of all professionals involved in the use and care of animals for scientific purposes.
