Veterinary Continuous Education in Europe2018-12-04T17:23:55+01:00

VetCEE – Veterinary Continuous Education in Europe – is an independent organisation and represents a joint initiative of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), the European Board of Veterinary Specialisation (EBVS), the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) and the Union of European Veterinary Practitioners (UEVP).

VetCEE runs an accreditation scheme for postgraduate veterinary programmes in different fields of the veterinary medicine, among them in Laboratory Animal Science and Medicine.

VetCEE has developed a Standard for structured continuous professional development of veterinarians. VetCEE Standard sets the general minimum requirements for those post-graduate programmes and is complemented by separate dossier of competences (DoC). Each dossier of competences has been developed in collaboration with European associations with expertise in the respective disciplines of the veterinary medicine. VetCEE has adopted so far six dossier of competences, namely in Companion Animal Medicine, in Porcine Health Management, in Equine Medicine, in Bovine Health and Production, in Laboratory Animal Science and Medicine and in Management of Veterinary Practice.

VetCEE has additionally developed the structure and mechanism for the evaluation of such programmes in Europe with a view to facilitate the mutual recognition of the competences of veterinarians by the national authorities throughout Europe.
